Senior Coordinator, Continuing Medical Education (CME)

Hybrid Schedule: 2 Days On-Site / 3 Days Remote
Full-Time | Salary Range: $60,000-$67,000
About the Position
Wills Eye Hospital is seeking a Senior Coordinator, Continuing Medical Education to support the planning, delivery, and evaluation of high-quality educational programs for physicians and other healthcare professionals.
This role is ideal for an education professional, academic program coordinator, or training specialist who enjoys managing complex educational initiatives and is interested in applying their skills within a healthcare setting. While experience with Continuing Medical Education (CME) or accreditation is beneficial, we welcome candidates with strong educational program coordination experience who are eager to learn CME standards and processes.
Reporting to the CME Manager, the Senior Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring educational activities are well-organized, learner-focused, and aligned with national accreditation expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Educational Program Coordination
- Coordinate a portfolio of professional education activities, including in-person, virtual, and on-demand programs.
- Support all phases of program delivery-from planning and scheduling through post-activity evaluation and reporting.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for faculty, speakers, and internal stakeholders.
- Accreditation & Quality Support
- Assist with maintaining compliance with ACCME accreditation standards through accurate documentation and reporting.
- Collect and organize disclosures, evaluations, and supporting materials for educational activities.
- Support preparation of annual reports and reaccreditation materials, with training and guidance provided.
Operations & Administration
- Manage registrations, attendance tracking, learner communications, and activity records.
- Support invoicing, payments, and joint providership documentation.
- Maintain organized digital and physical files to ensure audit-ready records.
- Program Improvement & Communication
- Collaborate with CME leadership to assess learner feedback and identify opportunities to improve educational offerings.
- Assist with the development of promotional and informational materials for educational programs.
- Provide on-site support for select programs, including occasional evenings or weekends.
Position Requirements
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience coordinating educational programs, academic initiatives, training, or professional development.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning new systems (e.g., LMS or event platforms).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred (but not required)
- Experience in healthcare, higher education, nonprofit, or professional association settings.
- Familiarity with CME, accreditation, compliance, or outcomes-based education.
- Experience supporting hybrid or virtual learning environments.
