Summer Internship at LancasterHistory

Summer Internships at LancasterHistory

If you’re fascinated by local history, this is the internship for you! LancasterHistory in Lancaster, Pennsylvania offers an enriching and robust Summer Internship Program for students interested in careers in museums, archives, and related fields.

During this eight-week program, which is funded in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities, interns will work alongside a senior member of the LancasterHistory staff and complete an independent project in their department. In the summer of 2026, opportunities are available in Curatorial; Education; and Historic House Interpretation at James Buchanan’s Wheatland.

Interns are required to attend their internship four days per week, Monday through Thursday from 10am to 4pm. LancasterHistory charges no tuition or program fees, and we offer each student a $2,500 stipend. The internship will run for 8 weeks beginning June 1, 2026 and ending on July 23, 2026.
