Interventional Pain Physician

Position Overview:

We are seeking a PM&R- or Anesthesiology-trained physician with experience in interventional pain management to join a well-established specialty practice featuring an on-site ambulatory surgery center and comprehensive therapy services. The ideal candidate is comfortable performing fluoroscopy-guided spine and pain procedures and is interested in building or expanding an interventional practice.

Candidates with or without formal pain fellowship training will be considered, provided they demonstrate appropriate procedural experience and competence.

 

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Perform interventional pain procedures, including but not limited to: Epidural steroid injections (cervical, thoracic, lumbar); Facet joint injections and medial branch blocks; Radiofrequency ablation; Sacroiliac joint injections; Peripheral nerve blocks; Various Advanced Procedures
  • Utilize fluoroscopy and/or ultrasound guidance as appropriate
  • Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions
  • Develop individualized treatment plans with an interventional focus
  • Participate in ASC-based procedures and peri-procedural workflow
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

 

Required Qualifications:

  • MD or DO
  • Board-eligible or board-certified in: Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) or Anesthesiology
  • Demonstrated experience performing interventional pain procedures
  • Active or eligible for Delaware medical licensure
  • DEA registration (or eligibility)
  • Comfortable working in an outpatient and ASC-based environment

 

Fellowship Training:

  • Pain fellowship training is preferred but not required
  • Candidates without fellowship training must demonstrate: Documented interventional case volume; Procedural competency; Willingness to undergo credentialing and proctoring as required

 

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience in advanced interventional procedures (e.g., Discograms, Intradiscal Procedures, RFA, neuromodulation exposure)
  • Prior work in an ambulatory surgery center
  • Familiarity with multidisciplinary pain management models
  • Interest in practice growth and long-term clinical development
  • NCV and EMG skills are a plus

  • Established interventional pain practice
  • On-site, accredited ambulatory surgery center
  • Strong clinical and administrative support
  • Efficient workflow with experienced staff

 

What This Role Is NOT:

  • Not medication-management-only
  • Not inpatient or hospital-based
  • Not limited to consultative care without procedures
