Library Director
The Board of Directors of the Schuylkill Haven Free Public Library is seeking candidates for a full-time Library Director. Located in southern Schuylkill County, PA, the Library serves the Borough of Schuylkill Haven, South Manheim Township, Port Clinton Borough and Landingville Borough. Currently, the Library is open 47 hours per week and has a staff of three part-time employees who provide a high level of customer service to our patrons.
Qualifications:
Pennsylvania Library Assistant certificate is required; bachelor’s degree
preferred.
Minimum of two years of continual supervisory Library experience is required.
Knowledge of general computer usage, basic troubleshooting, Microsoft Office and Google Docs experience is required, and the successful candidate must be comfortable assisting patrons with their computer and internet usage needs.
Current PA Clearances are required.
Responsibilities:
The Director is responsible for the daily operation of the Library, including but not limited
to:
Circulation
Collection development
Budgeting and reporting
Staff training and supervision
Customer service
Fundraising
Event planning and coordination
Social media and marketing
Hours and benefits:
This is a full-time position. Hours will be determined in consultation with the
Board of Directors. Some Saturdays and evenings are required.
Benefits include seven paid holidays, vacation time, personal days and a health insurance stipend.
Salary range is $35,000 - $40,000, based on experience.
