2027 Full-Time Analyst Program - Corporate & Strategic Functions - Legal Operations Analyst - Princeton


The Full-Time Analyst Program is for candidates who have graduated or will be graduating with a bachelor's or master's degree between September 2026 and July 2027.

Our Full-Time Analyst Program is a two-year experience designed to empower and support Analysts in connecting their personal passions and strengths to BlackRock’s mission, principles and purpose. The program begins with an orientation to learn about our purpose, business and strategic priorities – all while gaining insights into the day-to-day life of an Analyst at BlackRock.

Following orientation, Analysts join their teams and stay connected with colleagues across the globe through ongoing training and professional development. This program offers Analysts the chance to have a lasting impact on the firm and contribute to our greater collective purpose of helping more and more people experience financial well-being.

About the team:

The Legal Operations team is global and part of the broader Legal & Compliance COO team.
 

We are responsible for enabling the Legal department to operate efficiently, effectively, and at scale. Through a combination of technology, analytics, vendor management, financial oversight, and process improvement, the team supports the delivery of high-quality legal services while driving operational excellence.

Partnering closely with stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, Finance, Risk, and Technology, the team manages legal technology solutions, oversees legal spend and outside counsel programs, develops reporting and business insights, and leads strategic initiatives designed to enhance service delivery and create value for the organization.

As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to work at the intersection of law, business, technology, and data, gaining broad exposure to the operations of a global legal department while helping to shape its continued evolution.


Key Responsibilities:
Legal Spend & Vendor Management

  • Support administration of e-billing and matter management platforms.
  • Review legal spend data and assist with reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and trend analysis.
  • Monitor outside counsel compliance with billing guidelines and support invoice review processes.
  • Assist with law firm performance tracking and vendor management initiatives.
  • Prepare regular spend reports, dashboards, and presentation materials for department leadership.

 Data Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain legal operations reports and metrics.
  • Analyze matters, spend, staffing, and vendor data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the creation of quarterly business reviews and executive-level presentations.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of legal operations data and reporting.

Legal Technology & Process Improvement

  • Assist with implementation, administration, and enhancement of legal technology solutions.
  • Support user training, testing, documentation, and adoption efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
  • Participate in process mapping and continuous improvement initiatives.

Matter & Knowledge Management

  • Support matter intake, tracking, and reporting processes.
  • Assist with organization and maintenance of legal knowledge repositories and operational documentation.
  • Help develop standard operating procedures, user guides, and best practices.
  • Project Support
  • Participate in cross-functional projects with teams such as Legal, Compliance, Finance, Risk, and Technology teams.
  • Track project milestones, action items, and deliverables.
  • Conduct research and prepare materials for strategic initiatives and leadership updates.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
